How To Hack Wifi Wep Password Using Fern Wifi Cracker In Kali Linux

Wep networks has been the least secure networks of all time. Now a days you don’t find any wep networks around you. Everyone know that web is vulnerable to attacks and no one is using wep networks now. Just for the knowledge purpose here is a simple tutorial on hacking wifi wep networks using kali linux. This is one of the simplest and fastest possible hack till date.


Requirements:

  1)   Kali Linux – Operation System In Your System Or In Your Flash Disk (USB Pendrive)
  2)   4GB or Above Pendrive
  3)   Wifi networks near by with Excellent Signal to make hacking faster

How To Hack Wifi Wep Password Using Fern Wifi Cracker In Kali Linux



Step 1. Start Fern Wifi Cracker and select “Wlan” as your network interface and click on “Scan for access points

Step 2. Fern wifi cracker scans for the available networks around you and displays them as show below. Select “WEP


Step 3. Select the “Network” that you want to test and click on “Wifi Attack

Step 4. Fern Wifi cracker captures some packets and tries to crack the wep password, after sometime you can see “WEP Password:   password of the network” as shown in the image below



Step 5. All the cracked wifi passwords will be saved in the “Key Database”. Click on key data base in fern wifi cracker to view the password at any time.

Step 6. You can see the Access point name, MAC Address, Encryption and the Password (Key) of the Network.

It’s not secure to use WEP security in your router or network, if you are using wep – change to WPA/WPA2 – WPS Locked. WPA networks are more secure compared to wep. WPA/WAP2 Networks can also be cracked
