normally mac address is not meant to be changed, but while trying to hack

What is Mac Address?
A media access control address (MAC address) of a computer is a unique
identifier assigned to network interface for communications at the data link layer of a network segment. MAC addresses
are used as a network address for
most IEEE 802 network technologies, including Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
Logically, MAC addresses are used in the media
access control protocol sublayer
of the OSI reference model.
MAC addresses are most often assigned
by the manufacturer of a network
interface controller (NIC) and are stored in its hardware, such as the card's read-only memory or some other firmware mechanism. If assigned by the manufacturer,
a MAC address usually encodes the manufacturer's registered identification
number and may be referred to as the burned-in address (BIA). It may also be known as an Ethernet hardware address (EHA), hardware address or physical
address (not to be confused
with a memory physical address).
This can be contrasted to a programmed address, where the host device issues
commands to the NIC to use an arbitrary address.What is Mac Spoofing?
MAC spoofing is a technique for changing a factory-assigned Media Access Control (MAC) address of a network
interface on a networked device. The MAC address that is hard-coded on a network interface
controller (NIC) cannot be changed. However, many drivers allow the MAC address to be changed. Additionally, there
are tools which can make an operating system believe that the NIC has the MAC
address of a user's choosing. The process of masking a MAC address is known as
MAC spoofing. Essentially, MAC spoofing entails changing a computer's identity,
for any reason, and it is relatively easy.
What are the uses of Mac Spoofing?
1) When a public network bans your mac address, you
can change your mac address to connect to that network again
2) It can help us hack Wi-Fi networks
3) It lets us directly target devices connected to our
Local Area Network (LAN)
4) Setting up numerous virtual machines in a corporate
environment, each with a randomly assigned MAC address.
5) It can be used for improving anonymity
6) As Mac address is
unique, it is used to track your device, so mac spoofing will help you get
secured from tracking to some extent.
7) when you move
around, your smartphone or laptops scans for wireless networks and broadcasts
its Mac Address
How to Check Your Mac Address?
1) Press
“Ctrl+R” à Run Starts à in
run type “cmd” and open it
2) In cmd
type “ipconfig/all”
3) Scroll
down and check your mac address at “Wireless Lan adapter Wifi”. Your Mac
Address is called as Physical address
So, How to Change Mac Address or Mac Spoofing In Windows 10,8,7
1) Go
to Control Panel and open Device Manger
2) Device
manager dialog box opens à Select Network
adapters à Select your wireless
adapter (Name might vary)
3) Go
to “Advanced”
4) Select
“Network Address” Ã In Network Address
select “Value”
5) Now
enter 16digit alphanumeric data in the “Value” to change your mac address and
click ok
6) Lets Check again if the mac address is changed or not.
Run--> Cmd --> ipconfig/all
As you can see my Mac Address is changed. That’s it, very simple isn’t it.
Note: If you ever want to
revert changes that you made to your mac address, all you need to do it change
it back to “Not present”. It will automatically revert to original mac address.
